Our day trip hiking tour in the Garganta Verde and the white villages takes us in a comfortable van or microbus directly to the well-known mountain region in the Andalusian province of Cádiz, very close to the village of Zahara de la Sierra.

Our hiking tour starts about 5 km from this village, in the middle of the Sierra de Grazalema National Park. Our route leads through lush vegetation to the first viewpoint on the Bocaleones River, which offers a unique view of the gorge that cuts through the landscape.

After about 700m we begin descending to the river bed, where we have to be careful, as some paths are relatively steep. On this section we can observe the breeding grounds of the impressive lion vulture up close.

We continue towards La Garganta Verde (the green gorge) and the Hermitage, the large cave with imposing crimson and white rock walls and stalactites. Without a doubt one of the most magical places in the entire Sierra de Grazalema.

Shortly afterwards, the hiking trail becomes narrower until we reach the last vantage point of our tour, the up to 400m high cliffs on the Cerrada. From here it goes back to the starting point of the hiking tour.

After this unique natural spectacle, we first need a strengthening. We will enjoy the culinary delights of the region in a restaurant with typical local cuisine during our lunch break.

Then we take a leisurely guided tour of the white village of Zahara de la Sierra to say goodbye to this unique region in the heart of Andalusia.

After another break with free time to stroll and discover the area, our hiking tour in the Garganta Verde and the white villages ends and we drive back to your holiday resort.
