T<\/span><span lang=\"en\">he lack of giant hotel complexes and giant hotels strikes the eye immediately. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The city has been largely spared by the typical mass tourism &#8220;\u00e0 la Costa del Sol&#8221; and has been able to conserve it&#8217;s andalusian flair.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">Conil lives nowadays mainly by national and international tourism, even if the other major source of income, fishing, has lost hardly any significance. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">The town owes its appeal especially to the urban structure with small, winding streets and &#8220;Plazas&#8221; escalate in the city centre, as well as its white sandy beaches and picturesque bays in the coastal area. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">In the old town there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants which bear witness to the vitality of Andalusian mentality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">In the summer months the &#8220;population&#8221; of <\/span><span lang=\"en\">22,000 inhabitants <\/span><span lang=\"en\">grows to over 80,000<\/span><span lang=\"en\"> due to the influx of tourists. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">However, the streets and beaches are not overcrowded. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">Calm returns then gradually with the end of the high season from mid-September and the normal everyday life continues. <\/span><span lang=\"en\">In general May\/June and September\/October <\/span><span lang=\"en\">are <\/span><span lang=\"en\">the perfect months, to make holidays in Conil: mild climate with daytime temperatures around 30 \u00b0 C, sunny weather and almost empty beaches.
